Group Description
Each member is issued with some paper by our coordinator to write down a subject for discussion. That ensures everyone has an opportunity to participate. We can cover a range of subjects, mostly current, for example Trump and his tariffs are hot topics of the moment. We also discuss local issues - like the new Council Tax demands, which are less than popular. We also share information, particularly as only one of us has access to Instagram. Consequently the meetings can be very informative. We tend to avoid "touchy" subjects, for example, as some of the group are Jewish, we do not discuss the current Middle East conflict. Outside the meetings we mostly communicate via Whatsapp.
We are a very sociable group and respect each others opinions even if we do not agree occasionally. Once a year we have a "Christmas lunch".
The Open Door Cafe is run by a charity and they very kindly allow us to hold our meetings there. However there are time constraints as it is not very spacious and consequently with regret are unable to take on any new members for the foreseeable future.

If this group is currently full you can either contact the group coordinator to join a waiting list or contact the Groups Coordinator to join a waiting list for a new group, which we will endeavour to set up as soon as we get enough interest.
