Group Description

We meet on the first Wednesday of the month. Our group only travel by public transport, accessible from and back to High Barnet. This means that most walks can be linear rather than circular. Also each month a group member is the Leader and arranges the walk. The start time is generally 10.15am, depending on where (Freedom Pass times rule). Usually 5ish miles in winter, slightly longer in the summer months. We don't usually bring a pack lunch as walks finish lunchtime-ish, some go somewhere to eat, others go home.

Examples of previous walks - A circular walk from Cheshunt station; a walk around Reading (met at Moorgate with free travel for Freedom Pass holders on Elizabeth Line); Capital Ring, Hendon to Highgate; Abbey Wood (met at Moorgate and again used the Elizabeth Line); Richmond; Embankment, north and south bank plus a bit of the City.
