25 members of the History of London 1 group visited the Royal Institution which is situated a few hundred yards from Green Park Station.
It was a very very interesting experience which involved exploring a beautiful old building and enjoying a visit to the fascinating Faraday Museum.

Most of us only knew the Royal Institution as the host of the famous Christmas Lectures which started in 1825! They have become a cherished part of the Xmas season celebrated for their unique blend of science and entertainment.

Some of our most celebrated scientists worked there including Michael Faraday , Ada Lovelace and Humphrey Davy.
It has a small cafe and the lift makes the whole building accessible.
