In this talk, historian Dr Helen Fry will unveil the true story of the women who, defying the conventions of their time, took on an extraordinary range of roles in intelligence during both world wars.

Far from being a small part of covert operations, they ran spy networks and escape lines, parachuted behind enemy lines, interrogated prisoners ;and were code breakers. Dr Fry is an expert on the history of British intelligence, spies and espionage and is a frequent contributor to TV documentaries.
