Group Description
This group aims to read a wide group of books, both fiction and non-fiction. Suggestions are made by the members and twice a year a list is drawn up of books that will be read and discussed over the following six months. We tend to like books with a historical theme and have enjoyed reading non-fiction works about the first labour government of Ramsay MacDonald and the history of The Beatles.
As regards fiction we love authors such as Rose Tremaine, Barbara Kingsolver and Robert Harris. We occasionally choose a classic and have read A Tale of Two Cities and Jude the Obscure. Basically, if enough members suggest a book, we will read it.
We love reading and enjoy discussing literature. It's a great way to get to know new authors.
If this group is currently full you can either contact the group coordinator to join a waiting list or contact the Groups Coordinator to join a waiting list for a new group, which we will endeavour to set up as soon as we get enough interest.
