Group Description

We are a friendly walking group and meet on the first Monday of each month except in the case of a Bank Holiday when we walk on the following Monday. We use mostly public transport for either a linear or circular walk of about 5 or 6 miles. We sometimes car share to enjoy a walk further afield. Past walks have included High Barnet to Arnos Grove, Golders Green to Hampstead, Walthamstow Wetlands, Shenley circular walk, Lea Valley circular walk etc.

We are a co-operative group and members volunteer to lead walks if they are able. We try and plan in a coffee stop during or after the walk. Members should wear suitable footwear and clothing according to the weather. If a walk leader is suddenly unable to lead a walk we have a few reserve walks which we all know well e.g. High Barnet to Oakwood. Notification of an upcoming walk is usually sent out about a week beforehand.
