Group Description
History of London 1 is all about embracing the traditional U3A principles:
- Learning for Fun: No qualifications or awards needed—just pure enjoyment!
- Equal Footing: There's no difference between learners and teachers. We're all in this together.
- Member-Led: All teaching and learning are done by U3A members.
Every month, we gather at Wesley Hall for an engaging history presentation. Two weeks later, we embark on a visit or guided walk, often related to that month's topic. During June, July, and August, we skip the talks and enjoy outings instead. Our group has delved into London's rich history through various activities—talks, walks, museum visits, boat trips, and more. We've almost run out of places to explore in London!
Everyone's encouraged to get involved—each member is expected to organize an activity, lead a guided walk, or give a presentation.
